Montreal, May 24, 2018 – Mathieu Cloutier, Geneviève Everell, Kimberly Lallouz, Bob le chef and Danny Smiles will be joining host Isabelle Racicot as judges in the new culinary competition Je suis chef, airing this fall on V. These five recognized and respected chefs will be tasked with judging the participants’ dishes while trying to distinguish the skilled amateur cooks apart from the professional chefs.
“I am extremely pleased to be able to rely on this spirited group of high-calibre experts to accompany me in this new adventure,” says Isabelle Racicot. “Two of them will be joining me on each episode to provide amusing and entertaining comments. These talented and engaging chefs have extensive culinary experience: they are the perfect judges to evaluate the skills of the chefs! ”

Mathieu Cloutier

The chef and owner of the Kitchen Galerie restaurant attended the leading culinary institutions in France, England and Canada. Last week, he received the honorary title of 2018 chef of the year as part of the 65th anniversary of la Société des chefs cuisiniers et pâtissiers du Québec.

Geneviève Everell

The young entrepreneur made a name for herself in 2008 by introducing the innovative concept: Sushi à la maison. Supported by some thirty sushi chefs, she crisscrosses Quebec to visit the kitchens of hundreds of customers. She has published six recipe books, as well as commercializing Sushi à la maison mayonnaises and tartare cubes in grocery stores.

Kimberly Lallouz

After working in the fashion industry for six years, Kimberly decided to launch Miss prêt à manger, a cuisine that promotes organic and local food. She went on to open Miss prêt à manger caterer, Monsieur Resto + Bar, la Petite Miss & Miss Tennis as well as the Bird Bar. She is also chef at the Restaurant du MAC, the restaurant at the Musée d’Art contemporain de Montréal.

Bob le chef

Bob learned his trade by working at several famous Montreal establishments, including Le Misto, Le Globe, Italasia and Le Méditerranéo. He publishes, in the form of video capsules, simple and economical recipes on the web as well as odd and unusual cooking-related news. He has penned three cookbooks to date.

Danny Smiles

Danny won the third season of Top Chef Canada. He is head chef at Chuck Hughes’ renowned restaurant Le Bremmer. For several years, he has worked with Chuck in the preparing of the dishes served to international artists appearing at the Osheaga festival.

Each episode of Je suis chef will feature six different contestants competing in three tasty culinary challenges. At the end of the show, the winning participant will take home the $2,000 grand prize! Isabelle Racicot will be accompanied by two of the judges who will evaluate the dishes prepared by the participants as well as their techniques. Three of the six participants are professional chefs and the other three are skilled amateur cooks. As long as they are in the running, the actual professions of the participants will not be revealed! Will the judges be able to determine who’s who?
