This year, Groupe V Média is celebrating its history and has put together a 2019-2020 program lineup that will be the talk of the town. And this year will mark the long awaited return of the one and only Julie Snyder at the helm of a new talk show!


V : 10 years and as self assured as ever

Visual transformation and revamped programming: V is increasingly successful in meeting its mission to reach 18- to 49-year-olds with the most significant repositioning in its history! The brand that’s blowing 10 candles is delivering on its promise to provide advertisers with the best environment to reach a much sought-after target audience of young, active, and passionate Quebecers.

With its innovative multiplatform content that features popular on-air personalities and an engaging line-up of shows, V continues to stand out from the competition with a remarkable 37.7% A18-49 audience composition, the highest percentage of any conventional network in the market. The channel is refining its viewing audience in other key target groups as well with a 21.4% A18-34 composition (+19%) and 36.2% A25-54 composition (+9%).1

In an environment that remains brand-friendly, consistent and clear, the channel continues its trailblazing ways this year. Colorful, young and self-assured, V leaves no one indifferent and will offer content that is even funnier, more surprising and vibrant! But first things first, it’s now official: celebrated host Julie Snyder will be making her television comeback next winter! She joins V’s stable of on-air talent at the helm of a daily talk show created by none other than Stéphane Laporte. More details will be announced soon. This new program offering promises to become the new must-see television appointment in Quebec!

Also worth noting is the return this fall of the popular reality show Occupation Double hosted by Jay Du Temple. This year’s dream destination is exotic South Africa!  André Ducharme will also highlight the 10 incredible years of Un souper presque parfait with its daily diet of flamboyant dinners. To these much anticipated return engagements, we’re adding our new future audience favourite, À table avec mon ex, narrated by comedian Ève Côté. Former couples tie up loose ends and unresolved issues around the dinner table!

On the comedy side, immerse yourself  in the wacky world of Marie-Soleil Dion and Jonathan Roberge on the second season of Ne jamais faire à maison, but be careful not to get punked by one of the nutty characters portrayed by Dominic Paquet in Mets-y le Paquet! To get away from it all on weeknights, L’open mic de… presents a new roster of stand-up comedians of diverse backgrounds every week.

Next winter, join Marie-Eve Janvier for an 8th season of L’amour est dans le pré and Patrick Groulx returns in the exciting competition Maitre du chantier. Finally, we’re delighted to announce that viewer favourites RPM and RPM +HussiersNVL and Moment V will also be back next fall!

On the acquisitions side, l’Agent Whiskey Cavalier (Whiskey Cavalier) joins the lineup of well-established drama series that include NCIS: Los AngelesSeal Team: coeur et courage et Chicago Police. Ellen Degeneres and The Rock will also be captivating viewers with Les jeux fous d’Ellen (Ellen game of games) and Les jeux des Titans (The Titan Games), another new show premiering on V this fall.


ELLE Fictions and MAX : fiction television essentials!

Groupe V Média announced an unprecedented partnership last week with the Groupe Lagardère for the launch of its new specialty channel. Starting on August 26, ELLE Fictions will present 100% fiction programming, in French, including the most popular films and television series available today and classics that will immerse viewers in nostalgic moments.

Dawson’s Creek, Desperate HousewivesGossip GirlGilmore Girls, the new generation of Dynasty, the exclusive For the People, the telenovela Pasion Prohibida and Road to Avonlea are only a few of the great television series that will makeup the channel’s program schedule. It’s also important to note that the programming lineup will also include an impressive array of films that include television premieres, great classics, Hallmark original movies and movies based on Harlequin books.

With the arrival of this new fiction channel, Groupe V Média intends to build on the irrefutable success of MAX which grew its market share by an amazing 75% (vs 2017) and climbed into third place among specialty channels in Quebec! In just three years, its market share has more than doubled from 0.9% to 2.1% (All 2+). Last fall, an average of 1.3 million unique users visited the site each month, which also generated 4.9 million views and 13.6 million page views per month.3
